The Hermitage

Hermitage in Old Hickory Tennessee
My favorite site we have been to has to be the Hermitage. It is an absolutly beautiful plantation in middle Tennessee. What makes this home so specil is that it was home to United States President Andrew Jackson. The house hasn't changed that much since Jackson was there. One thing to check out when you get there is the garden in the spring. You will see beautiful rose bushes leading a path to President Andrew's and his wife's tomb. love this site!

Simpson County Jail and Archives in Franklin Kentucky.
The most recent site we have visited is the Simpson County jail and family archives. This jail was built in the mid 1800's and was operating until the early 1980's. The cool thing about this site is that it was built entiraly out of stone. This was definately one of the best sites i have ever been to. Although it is small, it holds a lot of history. You should go!
