Our first discovery was at the Octagon Hall. Before we go to a site we do our studying. That way we know what to expect. Like many sites, this site had a website. On the website there was no mention of any shots fired on this site. Even though the south used the yard as camp. My dad and I made our way outside and as e were admring the structure I noticed some holes. We took a picture to show the man working here to see if he knew. When he saw them he was very surprised and said he had never seen them. He then promised to check them out. We have not yet head a response.
The Hermitage

Our most recent and most exciting find was at the Hermitage. While exploring the grounds we stumbled upon a very cool tree. It had a hollow trunk probably big enough for a child to fit in. Thats what made me look in. At first glance I thought it was a stamp but when I picked it up it was a piece of a dinner plate. We took it to the gift shop to see if anyone knew about it. The clerk got very excited and she said the shop actually had replicas of this plate. In exchange for the plate she gave us an info book on the Herimtage, an Andrew Jackson pin and an autographed book from an author doing a book sighning that day. Good day at the Hermitage.
(this is obviously not the piece I found but it is similar to these. Real picture coming.)
